PGYTECH Slim Vintage Camera Strap Review | Strap Adjustment Tip

After buying my Fujifilm X-T30III,
I was trying to decide whether to just use the strap
that came with the camera or buy a nicer one separately.

But since I kept searching for cameras online,
the Instagram algorithm apparently figured me out.

“Oh~ You’ve been looking at cameras lately,
haven’t you?”

And suddenly my feed was full of camera unboxings,
sample photos, and photography-related posts.

Then!!

I came across a camera strap used by a woman in one of
the posts, and I absolutely loved how it looked.

So I immediately took a screenshot and searched for it.

Turns out it was the PGYTECH Slim Vintage Camera Strap!

The design was exactly my style, so…

I ended up buying it.

Ahem…

Here’s my review!

PGYTECH Slim Vintage Camera Strap

I bought the Caramel Brown version.

Since my camera is black,
I initially considered getting a black strap to match.

But I thought having everything in black might look a little too plain, and that brown would add a nice accent.

So I went with brown!

When you open the package,
you’ll find the strap along with a few additional parts.

The black pieces on the left seem to be replacements for
the orange parts that come attached to the strap.

I used the orange ones at first,
but I’ve since switched them to black.

And here’s why the word
“Vintage” is in the product name!

The strap has these little vintage-style details,
and honestly, I think they’re one of
the best-looking parts of the entire strap.

If this had just been a plain camera strap, I probably wouldn’t have bought it.

These small details are what really made me like the design.

How to Attach the PGYTECH Camera Strap

The part that connects to the camera has a
360-degree rotating design.

Press the button and the connector can be easily detached.

This means you can attach the connector to
the camera first and then simply reconnect it to the strap.

That’s it!

You don’t have to untie and reattach
the entire strap every time you want to remove it from
the camera, which is much more convenient than I expected.

And there’s another little feature I really like!!

There’s this tiny carrot-looking thing attached to the strap.

At first, I had no idea what it was.

But there’s actually a lens cleaning cloth inside!

Whenever you need it, just pull it out,
clean the lens, and put it back in.

You don’t have to carry a separate microfiber cloth,
and I like how neatly it’s integrated into the strap.

Attaching It to the Fujifilm X-T30III

Attaching the strap to the camera is pretty simple.

The Fujifilm X-T30III already comes with strap rings attached to the body, so this is how I’m currently using mine!

The quick-release system also makes it easy to remove
the strap whenever I don’t need it.

How to Adjust the Strap Length

You can use the adjustment buckle to change the strap to whatever length you prefer.

But!!

After shortening it, I noticed one downside.

I’m not sure whether this would be an issue for everyone, but I personally like to wear my camera strap fairly short.

And once I shortened it…

I ended up with a long piece of excess strap
just dangling around.

I bought this because I wanted my camera setup to look nice, but the loose strap hanging around looked a little awkward.

So here’s the solution I came up with!

A Simple Tip for Organizing the Excess Strap

Roll up the excess strap like this and tuck it through the inside.

That’s it!

It looks much cleaner, and the loose strap doesn’t
move around anymore.

If you also prefer wearing your camera strap fairly short,
I definitely recommend organizing the excess strap this way.

It’s a small adjustment,
but it makes the whole setup look much neater.

Price, Colors, and Other Features

I purchased the strap from
PGYTECH Korea for 60,000 KRW.

Another interesting feature is that the vintage-style sections on the strap can apparently be used to attach small accessories such as keychains or even an AirPods case.

So there’s some room to customize the strap depending on how you want to use it.

The strap supports a maximum load of up to 30 kg.

It also comes in three colors:

  • Caramel Brown
  • Midnight Black
  • Olive Green

I chose Caramel Brown because
I wanted a bit of contrast with my black Fujifilm X-T30III, but you can choose whichever color works best
with your camera.

Final Thoughts

Overall, I’m really happy with
the PGYTECH Slim Vintage Camera Strap.

The vintage-style details were the main reason I bought it, but after actually using it, I also really like the quick-release connectors, 360-degree rotating design, and built-in lens cleaning cloth.

The only real downside for me was the excess strap left over after shortening it.

But after rolling it up and tucking it inside, that problem was pretty much solved.

If you’re looking for a camera strap that’s practical
but also has a little more character than a basic strap,
I think this one is definitely worth considering.

And if you’re using it with a smaller camera like
the Fujifilm X-T30III, the Slim version
also feels like a good match without looking too bulky.
