Fujifilm X-T30III Review | Accessory Recommendations
I finally bought the Fujifilm X-T30III!
Originally, I really wanted to get the X100VI,
but it was incredibly difficult to find one in stock.
And once I started adding all the accessories I wanted, the total price ended up being much higher than I expected.
So I eventually gave up on the X100VI and started looking
at three Fujifilm cameras in a similar price range:
X-T50, X-T30III, and X-M5.
To get straight to the point,
I ended up choosing the X-T30III!
In this post, I’ll go over why I chose the X-T30III
over the other two models, what came in the box,
and the accessories I purchased along with it.
Which Camera Should I Choose?

At first, the X-M5 looked like a pretty good option.
It was the most affordable of the three,
making it a good choice for a beginner.
The body is also small and lightweight,
which seemed perfect for the kind of camera
I wanted something I could easily carry around.
But…
Unfortunately, the X-M5 doesn’t have a viewfinder.
I thought having a viewfinder would be useful
when shooting outdoors in bright sunlight rather
than relying entirely on the LCD screen.
And more importantly, if I’m buying a proper camera,
I want to enjoy taking photos through a viewfinder!

So I decided to rule out the X-M5.
The next model I spent a lot of time considering was
the X-T50.
One of the biggest advantages of the X-T50 is its
in-body image stabilization (IBIS),
which neither the X-T30III nor the X-M5 has.
Because of that, I seriously considered spending a little more and getting the X-T50 instead.
However, I’m not planning to use my camera professionally.
My main goal is to take nice photos while traveling or going about my everyday life, and I wanted something small and light enough that I would actually carry it around.
I gradually stopped carrying my previous DSLR because of
its size and weight, so portability was
especially important this time.

In the end, I chose the X-T30III because it’s smaller
and lighter while still having a viewfinder
and interchangeable lenses!
Although…
I’m still a little disappointed that it doesn’t have IBIS.
But the X-T50 has already been out for more than two years, so I figured that if I really get into photography
and eventually want another camera,
I can always buy a newer model later.
Why I Chose the X-T30III
These were the main things I was looking for:
- A body that isn’t too large or heavy
- A built-in viewfinder
- Fujifilm’s Film Simulations
- A standard zoom lens that covers a useful range of focal lengths
- Interchangeable lenses
- A reasonable price for a beginner camera
Considering all of these factors, the X-T30III seemed like
the best fit for me.
Fujifilm X-T30III Unboxing
Here’s my order and delivery timeline:
August 14: Ordered from Naver Store
August 18: Shipped
August 19: Delivered

I didn’t order just the camera.
Since the X-T30III only comes with one battery,
I also purchased an extra genuine Fujifilm battery
and a genuine battery charger.

Opening the box, you’ll find the manuals
and warranty information.
The camera body already came with the lens attached.

Other included items were:
- Body and lens caps
- Basic camera strap
- One battery
- Audio adapter for video monitoring

The LCD screen can be tilted like this.
My previous camera had a fully articulating screen t
hat could be flipped around and closed
when I wasn’t using it.
The X-T30III’s screen can’t be closed that way,
so I definitely think a screen protector is necessary.

The SD card slot is located in
the same compartment as the battery.
Once you insert the battery and turn the camera on,
you just need to set the language, date,
and time, and then it’s ready to use!

And seriously…
Isn’t it so pretty?
I completely fell for this design.
X-T30III Accessories Unboxing

I ordered several accessories along with the camera:
- UV filter
- LCD screen protector
- Thumb grip
- Leather half case

I also received two additional items
as free gifts with my camera purchase.

The item on the right is a set of 50 lens cleaning wipes.

The one on the left is a camera lens cleaning kit,
and my favorite part of the kit was definitely the air blower!

Next are the genuine Fujifilm battery accessories.
On the left is the genuine battery charger (59,000 KRW), and on the right is the genuine battery (99,000 KRW).

The charger and plug adapter come separated in the box.
Once you attach them together, you can plug
the charger directly into a 220V wall outlet.
I’ve mostly used chargers with cables until now,
so I found this design a little unusual.

Attaching the plug looks simple.
Although… it honestly wasn’t quite as straightforward as
I expected.

Hold it at an angle like this and push it downward,
and it should slide into place.

To remove it, simply slide the button at the bottom
and the plug comes off easily.

The battery itself is pretty simple.

When you insert the battery into the charger,
it looks like this.
A yellow indicator light turns on while the battery is charging.
Once charging is complete, the light turns off,
so it’s easy to tell when the battery is ready.
Kenko 49mm UV Filter

I felt a little uncomfortable using the lens completely unprotected, so I bought
a Kenko 49mm UV Filter (14,000 KRW).

It fits perfectly on the lens.
This is what the camera looks like with the filter attached.

I also like that the lens hood still fits properly
with the UV filter installed!
JJC 9H Tempered Glass Screen Protector

Next is the LCD screen protector.
I purchased the JJC 9H Tempered Glass Screen Protector (9,900 KRW).
Inside the package, you get:
- Two screen protectors
- Guide stickers
- Screen cleaning supplies

The guide makes installation pretty easy,
and the protector fits the screen nicely without being
too large or too small.
X-T30III Thumb Grip

I had seen a lot of people say that a
thumb grip (12,000 KRW) makes the camera more comfortable to hold, so I decided to try one.
But personally…
I don’t recommend it.
I’ve seen people mention that the Q button can be easy
to press accidentally without a thumb grip.
But for my hand size, the button is far enough away that
I don’t have that problem,
so I don’t really feel like I need the grip.
I’m also not sure whether it was just this particular product, but it was pretty tight when I inserted it.
When I decided I didn’t like it and tried to remove it…
It was so difficult to get out.
I was already nervous because it made a scraping sound
when I first inserted it.
Thankfully, the camera itself seems fine,
but I did notice some scratch marks around
the area where the grip was installed.
So this is one accessory I personally wouldn’t buy again.
Leather Half Case

I also purchased one of the more popular accessories for
the X-T30III, a genuine leather half case (59,900 KRW).

The leather coverage on
the X-T30III is actually smaller than I expected.
Half cases for some other camera models seem to
cover more of the body.

Still, I bought it mainly because it protects the bottom of
the camera from dirt and scratches while still allowing easy access to the battery compartment.
It also came with a matching wrist strap.
I purchased a separate camera strap,
so I haven’t used the included one,
but I do like that the color matches the case.
Fujifilm Product Registration

Registering the X-T30III was pretty straightforward.
The serial number for the camera body is located on
the bottom of the camera, while the lens serial number
can also be found on the lens.
I was able to register both on Fujifilm’s
website without much trouble.
How Much Did Everything Cost?
Here’s how much I spent on the camera and accessories:
| Item | Price |
|---|---|
| X-T30III Lens Kit | 1,599,000 KRW |
| Extra Battery | 99,000 KRW |
| Battery Charger | 59,000 KRW |
| Screen Protector | 9,900 KRW |
| Thumb Grip | 12,000 KRW |
| Leather Half Case | 59,900 KRW |
| Kenko UV Filter | 14,000 KRW |
| 128GB SD Memory Card | 60,950 KRW |
| PGYTECH Camera Strap | 60,000 KRW |
| Total | 1,973,750 KRW |
And I haven’t even bought a camera pouch yet…
Altogether, I’ve already spent 1,973,750 KRW,
which is basically around 2 million won.
My bank account may be empty, but at least I’m happy!!
Final Thoughts

And that’s my Fujifilm X-T30III purchase
and unboxing review!
I spent a lot of time deciding between the X-M5, X-T50,
and X-T30III, but for what I wanted a compact
and relatively lightweight Fujifilm camera with a viewfinder and interchangeable lenses
the X-T30III felt like the best choice.
I still wish it had IBIS, but considering its size, design, features, and price, I’m happy with my decision so far.
I’ll finish this post with a photo
I took of my Bbangbbangi flowerpot… although the air plant that used to live in it has disappeared.
Next time, I’ll come back with more sample photos taken with the X-T30III!
