Number 25 Hotel Mukho Port Review | Budget-Friendly Hotel Near Mukho Station
For this summer vacation,
I traveled to Mukho and Gangneung!
I decided on the destinations first
but kept putting off
booking my hotels.
By the time I finally started looking,
I realized that good ocean view hotels
around Mukho were either quite expensive
or difficult to find
within a reasonable price range.
That’s when I found
Number 25 Hotel Mukho Port!
It had been recently renovated,
looked clean,
and was close to Mukho Station.
It was also within walking distance
of many of the main places
I wanted to visit around Mukho,
so I decided to book it.
After staying here for one night,
I was pretty satisfied
considering the price and location.
However,
the room was quite humid,
which was the biggest downside for me.
Here’s my full review!
Number 25 Hotel Mukho Port Location

254 Balhan-ro, Donghae-si,
Gangwon-do, South Korea
This is the hotel
I stayed at for one night
during my trip to Mukho.

If you follow your navigation app,
it may guide you
toward the front of the building.
However,
you need to enter
through the side alley
to reach the hotel entrance
and parking area.
If it’s your first visit,
the entrance may be
a little confusing to find.
Parking

There are around five
parking spaces
directly in front of the hotel.
The hotel’s own parking area
isn’t very large,
but there’s a public parking lot nearby.
So parking wasn’t something
I had to worry about too much.
The building was also
recently renovated,
so everything looked
clean and well maintained.
Check-In and Complimentary Snack Bar
Check-in starts at 4 PM.
It was extremely hot
on the day I visited,
and I arrived
at around 3:20 PM.
I asked if
early check-in was possible,
but they were still
preparing the rooms.

So I waited
in the complimentary snack bar
on the first floor.
And this is where
I was really surprised…
At first,
I thought it was
a breakfast area.
But the food was already available
from around check-in time!
When I visited,
the snack bar had:

- Bread
- Strawberry jam
- Butter
- Bananas
- Cup noodles
- Boiled eggs
- Various snacks
- Cereal
- Coffee
What I really liked
was that these weren’t available
only during breakfast hours.
They were provided
for hotel guests
to enjoy throughout their stay.
The first-floor area itself
was also very comfortable.

There’s a restroom,
as well as tables
where you can sit,
eat, or simply take a break.

And after staying here,
I realized something…
The first-floor snack bar
was much cooler
than my room.
I’ll explain why
a little later.
Farther inside,
there are a few guest rooms
and an elevator.

There were also umbrellas
near the entrance.
I assume they’re available
for guests to use
on rainy days.

There were several brochures
with information
about things to do in Donghae too.
I took one
to use in my travel journal haha.

For reference,
the front desk
is on the second floor,
while the complimentary snack bar
is on the first floor.
We couldn’t check in
when we first arrived
at 3:20 PM.
About 20 minutes later,
other guests started checking in,
and we were able
to check in as well.
Inside the Room

The room isn’t
particularly spacious.
Still,
considering the price
and location,
I was happy with
how clean it was.

The TV was
also surprisingly large!

Another thing
I personally liked
was the number
of power outlets.
Sometimes hotel rooms
don’t have enough outlets
near the bed,
which can be inconvenient.
But here…
There were outlets everywhere.
Even if you’re charging
your phone,
camera,
portable battery,
and several other devices,
you probably won’t
run out of outlets.

The bed and bedding
also looked
clean and well maintained.
Room Amenities

The room included:
- Hair dryer
- Hair straightener
- Comb
- Disposable amenities
- Cups
- Refrigerator

Most of the basic items
you might need
were already provided.
So you probably
won’t need to bring
too many extra things.

However,
there wasn’t a body towel
when I stayed.

There were also
four bottles of water
in the room.
And since there’s
a water dispenser
in the snack bar
on the first floor,
you can easily refill
your water if needed.
The dispenser also provides
hot water,
which is especially convenient
if you want to make
cup noodles.

The bathroom was
also very clean,
probably thanks
to the recent renovation.
More Food in the Morning

When I went downstairs
to check out,
I looked at
the snack bar again.
And I was surprised
all over again.
In the morning,
they had added yogurt
and cherry tomatoes.
Even without
a traditional hotel breakfast,
there was enough food
for a simple morning meal.
And at night,
you could even grab
a cup of instant noodles
for a late-night snack!
However,
when I visited the snack bar
at around 10 PM,
we took the last cup noodle
that was available.
So some items
may run out
later in the evening.
If you want something
from the snack bar,
I’d recommend going
before it gets too late.
What I Didn’t Like
Overall,
I was satisfied
with my stay.
But there was
one major downside.
The room was
very humid.
I’m not sure
if it was only
the room I was assigned,
but even with
the air conditioner
running on its most powerful setting,
the room still felt humid.
I’m not sure
whether it was because
the hotel is close to the sea
or because of
the air conditioning system.
But personally,
I really wished
there had been
a dehumidifier in the room.
The air conditioner
in the first-floor snack bar
was actually larger
than the one in my room.
So somehow,
the first floor
ended up being
the coolest place
in the hotel…
If you’re planning
to stay during summer,
this is something
I’d keep in mind.
I also noticed
a few bugs occasionally
around the first-floor snack bar.
There weren’t any bugs
inside my room.
Since the snack bar
is a common area
close to the entrance,
they probably came in
from outside.
Other than
these two things,
I was satisfied
with the overall value
for the price.
Convenience Stores Nearby
There isn’t
a convenience store
directly in front
of the hotel.
If you walk
through the nearby market,
you’ll eventually find
a GS25 and CU.
They aren’t extremely far away,
but once you’re already
inside the hotel,
going back out
can feel a little inconvenient.
If you need
snacks, drinks,
or other essentials,
I’d recommend buying them
before returning to the hotel.
Number 25 Hotel Mukho Port Overall Review
Number 25 Hotel Mukho Port
was a good budget-friendly option
for a one-night stay
while exploring Mukho.
One of the biggest advantages
was the location.
It’s close to Mukho Station,
and many nearby attractions
are within walking distance.
The rooms and facilities
were clean
after the recent renovation.
I was also
more impressed than expected
by the complimentary snack bar
on the first floor.
Having snacks,
cup noodles,
and simple breakfast items
available was
a really nice bonus.
The room wasn’t very large,
and the high humidity
in my room
was definitely disappointing.
Still,
if you’re mainly planning
to explore Mukho
and want a clean hotel
at a reasonable price,
I think it’s
a solid option.
It’s especially suitable
if you plan
to spend most of your time
exploring Mukho
and simply want
a comfortable place
to shower, relax,
and spend the night.
