Tokyo Harajuku Tamagotchi Factory Visit Review
Lately I’ve been really into Tamagotchi, so when I traveled to Japan,
I really wanted to visit Tokyo!
Because in Harajuku, Tokyo,
there’s a Tamagotchi Factory.
Recently, Tamagotchi has suddenly become really popular,
so it’s been hard to find one not only
in Korea but also in Japan.
During my last trip to Osaka,
I couldn’t even buy a Tamagotchi.
But this time, I visited the
Tamagotchi Factory,
bought some merch, and finally
got a Tamagotchi Paradise!
Now, let’s get started with my Tamagotchi Factory review!

If you go up to the 3rd floor
of Tokyu Plaza Harajuku,
you can immediately spot the Tamagotchi Factory.

As soon as you enter the entrance,
a giant Tamagotchi welcomes you.

Inside, there were many different Tamagotchi characters,
and the whole place was decorated in a very cute and charming way.

There were also
Tamagotchi-themed gachas,
so you could try them yourself.

It was a place where you could pick Tamagotchi character miniatures
and create your own custom merch.

Since these were exclusive goods only available at the Tamagotchi Factory,
they felt even more special.

From stickers and hand towels
to AirPods cases, there were all kinds
of Tamagotchi goods being sold,
which made browsing around really fun.

There was also a Lab Tama inside
the factory, so if you have
a Tamagotchi Paradise,
you can receive special items as well.

Tamagotchi Paradise has been so popular lately
that I was worried I wouldn’t
be able to get one,
but the factory actually had plenty of stock in different colors.
At the moment, Tamagotchi Paradise costs 6,380 yen in Japan,
which is about $40 USD.

I had already bought
the Jade version in Korea,
so this time I picked the Purple version
to explore the Sky Map.

They were also selling
Nano Tamagotchi models
collaborating
with Sanrio’s Pompompurin.
There was a limit of one per person,
but I couldn’t decide between
the yellow and pink versions,
so I ended up buying both.
The price was 2,860 yen,
which is about $18 USD.

They were also selling the original Tamagotchi models as well.

Besides that, there were many
different kinds of goods
and plenty of photo spots,
which made exploring
the place even more fun.

My favorite character is Kuchipatchi,
and the plush was so cute that
I seriously considered buying it,
but in the end, I didn’t.

And finally, this is something I think
you absolutely have to try
if you visit the Tamagotchi Factory.
After choosing the container color
you want and paying for it,
you get 3 minutes to fill the container
with as many mini figures as you like.

The price was 3,828 yen,
which is about $24 USD.
It was a little expensive,
but since you can fill it with
your favorite characters yourself,
and it’s a unique experience only available at the Tamagotchi Factory,
I highly recommend trying it.
There’s a 3-minute time limit,
but if you arrange the figures carefully,
you can fit more than you’d expect,
so my tip is not to rush too much!

If you’re a foreign traveler visiting Japan,
you can get tax-free shopping on the basement 1st floor
if your total purchase amount
exceeds 5,000 yen.
So if you spend over 5,000 yen,
I definitely recommend stopping by
to claim your tax refund!
